Odds and ends

This section deals with the function word ju:

Pattern:
ju [sentence] → incidental clause

Incidental clauses are a means to place a sentence in a sentence to add incidental information about something in that sentence.

	Shảo	mí	Rẻbeka,	ju	mả	zảo	súq	tá	moq,	rûqshua.
	want	the-named	Rebecca	_ju	C_[+int]	know	you	it_IV	INT	that-rain
	"Rebecca, do you know her?, wants it to rain."

Parentheticals allow arbitrary text (any number of complete or incomplete sentences) to be inserted inside a text, like English "(" and ")".

Pattern:
kıo [text] kı → parenthetical

	Mủi	hı	rải	ní	moq?	(kio	nỉqchıe	jí	ki)
	meaning	which	thing	this	INT	(	beginner	I	)
	"What does this mean? (I'm a beginner)"

Pattern:
hu [argument] → vocative phrase

The vocative specifies the addressee of an utterance:

	Tỉ	jí	búe	hu	máma.
	at	I	the-home	VOC	the-mom
	"I'm home, mom!"
